These release notes provide information about the latest Metalogix® ControlPoint release.
Version 8.8 of Metalogix ControlPoint introduces the following features:
·ControlPoint now supports SharePoint Server Subscription Edition.
·ControlPoint has added support for Windows Server 2022 and SQL Server 2022.
·ControlPoint installation requires .NET Framework v. 4.8 or higher.
·You can install and configure both the ControlPoint application and ControlPoint services silently in a single operation using xml and PowerShell, bypassing the ControlPoint installaton wizard completely.
·The left navigation pane now includes a Home button, which allows you to return to the ControlPoint home page without refreshing the browser.
·ControlPoint Application Administrators can enable a banner with custom text to displays at the top of the ControlPoint workspace pane. Attributes such as size, background color, and font can also be customized.
·You can run ControlPoint for Office 365 (ControlPoint Online) saved xml instructions using PowerShell.
There are no resolved issues in this release.

Login and Security Trimming

·If a ControlPoint user has permissions to SharePoint sites only through a web application Full Control permission policy, and this permission was granted after the initial run of ControlPoint Discovery, site collections and sites within that web application will not display in Search Hierarchy results if cached data is used. Workaround: Before running Discovery, give the user any level of permissions to any site within each site collection in the web application. Only then will Discovery be able to discover that the user has Site Collection Admin rights via the web application policy. After the next Discovery run has finished, you can remove the site-level permissions. |

Business Administrators Functionality
