How to Create Support Bundles
Use Support Bundles to easily gather information that can help Quest Support resolve any
problems that occur when you run Space Manager.
When you create a Support Bundle, you specify the information to include. You can include
information about your installations of Oracle and Space Manager, general system information,
connection information, registry data, and SQL execution logs.
Important: Support Bundles do not capture any data within the database, but they may include
information about objects within the database, such as object names.
To create a Support Bundle
1. Select Help | Support Bundle to open the Support Bundle window.
2. Select options in the Create Options tab. Always include the default options, and include
additional options as they pertain to your issue.
Note When all options are selected for a Support Bundle, it may contain
hundreds of pages.
3. Enter notes to Quest Support in the Comments field.
4. Click Create to specify a storage folder and file name for the Support Bundle in the
Create Support Bundle window. The default storage folder is the Support Bundle folder
under the Space Manager client folder. The default file format is the Zip compression
format. The other formats available are XML and text.
5. Click Save to create save the Support Bundle. How much time it takes to create a Support
Bundle depends on the number of Create options selected.
6. When bundle creation is complete, the new Support Bundle is displayed in the View
Details tab of the Create Support Bundle window. You can use this tab to review all
information included in the Support Bundle.
You can attach the support bundle to the case or send an email with the support bundle attached.
