Issue
We receive the following error migrating to the server or PST file.
!D Error: Unable to MAPIAdminProfiles(): Unknown error 0x80040605
or
Unable to MAPIAdminProfiles(): Unspecified error
What causes this?
Solution
This error can occur when a non-supported version of Outlook is installed on the migration workstations. Make sure a supported version is installed, per our product requirements documentation.
If the correct version of Outlook is installed, then this sounds like a problem with the MAPI profile on the migration workstations or Outlook is not set as the default mail program.
Delete the MAPI profile(s)
Create a new MAPI profile.
Run fixmapi from the Windows\system32 directory.
Check in the Control Panel and ensure that Outlook is set as the default program for mail.
Then also verify this in the Windows Registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Clients). All items should be set to Microsoft Outlook.
Run the migration.
