When clients attempt to access the reports web site from their desktops they receive the following error:
"Unable to open MessageStats Reports web page- receive error: "Unable to create copy template files to [My Reports] folder"
This is a permissions issues with not being able to save to the C:\Inetpub\WWWRoot\MessageStatsReports\Reports\ _Users Directory on the IIS Server with MessageStats Web Reports installed where the end users are supposed to save the custom reports.
Confirm the end user account has full control to their directory which uses this name format, "DomainName%#LetterUserName" under the _Users Directory on the IIS Server hosting MessageStats Web Reports.
Ensure the user account accessing MessageStats Reports is a member of the following two local security groups on the IIS Server hosting the MessageStats Reports:
- WebReports Users, which resides on the IIS Server hosting the MessageStats Reports web site.
- Quest MessageStats Web (for read access only), which resides on the computer hosting the Quest Messagestats database.
This directory can also be deleted if no custom reports are saved and when the next time the end user logs on to MessageStats Reports a new directory will be created under the _Users directory for them to use.
