How to change a SQL Server agent userid and password (4296068)

A user changes their database monitoring account and password for SQL Server instances.

Where can the appropriate changes be made for the SQL Server Foglight agents?

METHOD 1 - This is the preferred method

1. Follow knowledgebase article 4310893 which details how to open the administration dashboard for one or more agents
2. Click on Settings | Administration
3. Click on Connection Details
4. Go to select the problematic agent
5. Edit the credentials
6. Click on Validate connectivity to verify the new connection details
7. Save the changes

METHOD 2

The database and OS userids and passwords can be configured in the individual agent properties.

1. These can be accessed through the navigation via: Administration | Agents | Agent Status
2. Edit the Properties for the agent
3. Click on Modify the private properties for this agent
4. Update the User name and Password fields under the "Monitored Connection Profile" area.
5. Click the Save Changes button
6. Deactivate the SQL Server agent
7. Activate the SQL Server agent
