Connect to the database and the error below is immediately received.
"Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
Perform the steps below to clear the temp, cache, and corrupted files.
1) Fully exit SQL Optimizer (and Toad for Oracle if you have it).
2) Go to:
C:\Users\<YOUR_USER>\AppData\Roaming\Quest Software\Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle\
3) Rename the “9.x.x” folder to “8.x.x_OLD” (NOTE: please replace the “9.x.x” with your SQL Optimizer version.)
4) Start SQL Optimizer.
5) Re-test the issue.
NOTE: Please try not to leave SQL Optimizer (and Toad for Oracle if you have it) running overnight or force close Toad as these can cause user files corruption or damage.
