How to Enable and Configure Agent Status Icon Shortcuts (4288158)

In version 11.1 more functionality added to the agent icon in the system tray, such as opening links. Your system administrators can specify up to ten links that appear in the new Shortcuts menu item. This menu item only appears when one or more links are specified in the agent communication settings, in the Agent Status Icon Shortcuts section.

Standard Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) links are supported, such as HTTP, SSH, and FTP URLs. Clicking this link causes your system to launch the application associated with the selected resource. For example, when you click an HTTP-type link, your system opens the link in the default browser.

To enable/configure the KACE Agent System Tray Utility and Agent Status Icon Shortcuts:

1. On a single ORG box: Go to Settings | Provisioning | Communication Settings
   • On an ORG-enabled box: System | Organizations | Click on desired ORG
2. To enable the KACE Agent System Tray Utility, add a check next to Agent Status Icon On Device
3. Once it is enabled, two additional settings become available:
   1. Agent Snooze on Device
      • This setting enables snooze options for agents. The Agent Status Icon on Device must also be enabled
   2. Agent Snooze Max Count (per day)
      • This setting defines the total number of snoozes allowed for each agent in a day (based on the endpoint's local date)
   3. Agent Status Icon Shortcuts
      • Agent Status Icon shortcuts allow users to specify up to 10 shortcut links which appear on the Agent Status Icon menu of agent-managed devices.
      • Please note that depending on the level of system activity, it may take some time for the shortcuts to synchronize to each Agent-managed device.

1. Click on the + icon to Add Item
2. Add a Display Name
3. Add the URL
4. Click Add

• To edit the URL, use the Pencil Icon
• To delete the URL, use the Trash Can Icon
• To reorder the URLs, use the Menu Icon (drag and drop)
