ERROR 'At least one location in farm [Farm#] must have a TCP Port and Server(s) Specified.’ is di (4267222)

This error can be seen when importing a config.xml file into AppPortal. The error occurs when the URLCapture section has been specified in the farm settings and there are no user credentials provided.

If the URLCapture settings are removed from the config.xml file this error will not be encountered

The error is caused by a problem when processing the URLCapture string that requires user authentication before the process completes.

WORKAROUND:
There are 2 workarounds for this problem, either one will allow you to proceed past this error:

Workaround 1

If you environment will support single sign-on (SSO) and you have not enabled this option in the config.xml file then doing so will avoid this problem.

1. edit the config.xml file and locate the setting EnableSSO =, ensure the value is set to ‘1’ enabled
2. if necessary move the URLCapture entries so that they appear after the Farm and Location sections
3. save and close the config.xml file
4. import the file into AppPortal and move to the Auto-Launch tab, press the Finish button

Workaround 2

1. create a config.xml file for your vWorkspace environment
2. add the URLCapture entries so that they appear after the Farm and Location sections
3. import the file into AppPortal and move to the Auto-Launch tab, press the Finish button
4. the error 'At least one location in farm [Farm#] must have a TCP Port and Server(s) Specified.’ is displayed
5. select the Credentials tab and enter user credentials, username, password & domain
6. move to the Auto-Launch tab and press the Finish button
7. the config.xml settings have now imported correctly

The defect has been submitted to the vWorkspace development team for consideration in a future version of vWorkspace
