The following error message is received when connecting to an ASM (Automatic Storage Management) Instance in TOAD:
ORA-01219: database not open: queries allowed on fixed tables/views only
"Connection to Oracle 7 servers require Oracle 8.1.7 clients or older"
RESOLUTION:
TOAD does not support connection to an ASM instance. This has been added as an enhancement request for future release.
