Process Availability remains at 100% when a declared process is stopped

Process Availability remains at 100% when a declared process is stopped.

This happens when “Collect declared process only” is enabled and a single process is defined in “Process Availability Config” in the agent properties.

Process Availability alarms will not fire as expected.

The agent cannot calculate process availability percentage when none of the declared process are found and data will not be submitted.

WORKAROUND 1

Use the Process Exist Count rule to get alarms when no instances of the processes defined in the Process Availability Config property list are running.

WORKAROUND 2

Add another process that is always expected to be running to the Process Availability Config property list. If one of the declared process remains active, the agent should be able to calculate the process availability percentage.
