Description: This guide should only be used for customers approved by Tom Lee If the user requires 15 licenses or less. At this time we are only allowing users from South Korea to use this type of license. This will also require prerequisites from Tom Lee and the customers.
Prerequisite:
-Users must install 2020R1 64-bit or 2020R2 64-bit only.
-Tom Lee already has instruction to provide the users with the below license patch that needs to be applied in order for the license to work with the application.
-Within the zipped files, the customer will need to provide Tom Lee with the Licensefile.lic and it should look like below.
Steps:
-Once you receive the licensefile.lic confirm the Nalpleiron license key is disabled and confirm the quantity matches with the number of MAC addresses that are listed. If the license key is more than 15 users we will require approval from Wendy.
-Download the erwinLICTool attached and place it in your Temp folder (C:\Windows\Temp) along with the licensefile.lic in the same location.
-Open a command prompt and run the following:
-If it works you will see the licensefile.lic and licensefile.lic.enc_old1.
-When you open the licensefile.lic you will see it is encrypted. example below.
-Send it to the customer and let them know to place it in the following directory: C:\ProgramData\erwin\Data Modeler\Licensing
-If it worked, it will skip the license screen and launch the splash screen
-This is how the license screen will look for the users when going to Help-> Licensing
When closing out the ticket request make sure one of the following Product Components are selected.
Troubleshooting:
-Customers may provide the incorrect MAC address and the application will alert you and include the correct MAC address. Have the user send a screenshot so we may update the file.
-Have the user send you the licensefile.lic and you will need to decrypt the file and fix the MAC address. Please decrypt their license by placing the file back in your temp location and run the below command:
The blank cursor means it successfully decrypted the file. You should be able to read the MAC addresses and update them with the new MAC address.
