Change Auditor agent local database changed from using SQL Compact Edition to SQL LocalDB (4378214)

In version 7.5 the Change Auditor local agent database changed from using SQL Compact Edition to SQL LocalDB. This change was made because SQL Compact Edition has reached end-of-life status with Microsoft.

Below are some important things to note with this change:

• The agent database is now hosted in SQL LocalDB and is run as its own process called “SQL Server Windows NT (sqlservr.exe)”.  It will run as SYSTEM

• If there are events in the local database prior to the agent being shut down for an upgrade to version 7.5, they will be lost. They are not migrated to the new database.
• A reboot may be needed after upgrade to the SQL LocalDB
  • NOTE: To avoid a reboot install the pre-requisites prior to upgrade (may still require a reboot but the old agent is still available until after these are completed):

• Visual C++ 2015 - 2022 Redistributable x64 14.38.33135 is installed by the agent if not already present.
• NOTE: A newer version of the redistributable can be installed on the agent machine prior to upgrading the agent to 7.5 if desired.

• The maximum DB file size is 4GB. If it reaches 3GB only critical events will be accepted. 1GB of space is reserved for critical events.
• The file size of the DB does not decrease as events are removed from the database.
• The agent database now remains after the agent is uninstalled.
