When sending query from Toad to Optimizer, the following error occurs:
"Failed to connect to database. [IBM] [CLI Driver] SQL1031N The database directory cannot be found on the indicated file system. SQLSTATE=58031" Connection was made successfully in Toad.

Causa
Toad for DB2 allows for a direct connection or connection string, however, SQL optimizer requires the database information to be cataloged -
Risoluzione
From Toad, use the 'DB2 Client Configuration Wizard' button in the 'Create New Connection' window, to catalog the database and create an alias. The alias will then be used in SQL Optimizer.
