During the creation of a KACE Boot Environment (KBE), the SDA (Systems Deployment Appliance) looks in the
\\ikbox\driversdirectory for additional network and storage drivers that may be necessary for the target system. This directory must be populated with the required drivers if the default Windows PE (WinPE) driver set does not support the hardware in your environment.Users may also need to set or change the password for accessing this share, especially after appliance upgrades or admin credential changes.

1. Add Required Drivers to the Directory
To ensure proper hardware detection during KBE creation:
- Add necessary Network and Storage drivers to
\\[SDA_IP_or_Hostname]\drivers. - Only perform this step if the default WinPE drivers do not support the target system and it fails to reach the KACE Capture/Deploy menu.
2. Set or Change the SDA Samba Share Password
- Log into the SDA web interface.
- Navigate to: Settings › Control Panel › General Settings › SDA Samba Share Password.
- Enter the desired password and save the settings.
Important: Changing the Samba password will invalidate any previous KBE environments. Re-create all KBEs to ensure the updated password is encoded into the new KBE.3. Accessing the Driver Share
You can map a network drive to the drivers share using the following information:
- Path:
\\[SDA_IP_or_Hostname]\drivers - Username:
admin - Password: The one configured in the previous step
4. NTLMv1 Note for Version 6.0.425 and Above
Note: If you're unable to access the Samba share after upgrading to version 6.0.425 or later:- Be aware that NTLMv1 is disabled by default in this version.
- If required by your environment, you may need to enable NTLMv1 manually to allow access.
