Identified a few issues in an environment where the Agents were getting registered automatically with an InTrust server other than the one it was registered to, and the servers assigned for Indexing in each of the repositories was also changing.
Quest does not officially support any scenario where InTrust and IT Security Search (ITSS) are using the same Organization and/or server. For more information, please refer the ITSS User Guide link mentioned below and check the section called "Where to Install".
Installing both ITSS and InTrust on the same server and/or using the same Organization will encounter problem where the indexing servers assigned to each repository will be changing automatically. This issue can occur since ITSS uses some of InTrust components, and it is not recommended(ITSS) to be in the same environment and/ or using the same Organization as InTrust, as it may cause an interdependency with some of the components which can cause such issues in the environment and can explain the unusual behavior from the application.
Our testing has indicated that the removal of ITSS from the same Organization and/or servers may help you restore InTrust to its expected functionality, and reaffirming ITSS’s role behind the problem. To get rid of the issue and ensure the continued optimal performance of InTrust, we recommend the customer follow to follow below steps:
