How to change a password for a database agent (excluding SQL Server PI repository login) (4289409)

A password was changed in a database instance and the agent no longer monitors.

How can the database password be changed for the database agent to reconnect?

RESOLUTION 1 - Using the Agent Administration Panel (for SQL Server, DB2, and Oracle)

1. Navigate to the Databases Dashboard
2. Select one or more database agents
3. Click Settings | Administration
4. Click Database Connection Details in the menu
5. Click the database instance name
6. Update the password field
7. Click the validate button
8. If validation fails for any databases, click the database name and update the password field and then click the Validate button again
9. Click the Save Changes button

RESOLUTION 2 - Update the Agent Status page (applicable for all types of database agents)

1. Navigate to Administration | Agents | Agent Status
2. Select one or more database agent
3. Click the Edit Properties button
4. Click the link to Modify the Properties of the Agent (if shown)
5. Update the Password field
6. (for DB2 agents only) Click the Edit button next to the Monitored Databases field
7. (for DB2 agents only) Update the Password fields next to each database name
8. Click the Save Changes button.
9. Click the Save button
10. Navigate to Administration | Agents | Agent Status
11. Deactivate the database agent
12. Activate the database agent
