SQL C2 Log gathering fails with "Internal error: cannot find the last gathered event position in the gathered database.[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Associated statement" (4314686)

During gathering of the SQL C2 Log, an error similar to the following is recorded:

Description: Failed to collect event log. ADC Error: Internal error: Errors encountered while preparing for data collection. (Internal error: cannot find the last gathered event position in the gathered database.[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Associated statement

Perform the following to obtain a better description of the failure:

1. Open SQL Management Studio
2. Connect to the SQL Instance that contains the C2 log to be gathered
3. Click 'New Query'
4. Select the Master database from the database dropdown box
5. Copy the contents of the "SQL Query" tab of the "Microsoft SQL server C2 log" datasource in InTrust Manger and paste them into the "New Query" Window
6. Edit the line: set @GathLabel = %LAST_GATHERED_EVENT%
7. To the following: set @GathLabel = '2000-01-01 00:00:00'
8. Run the query and confirm if results are returned or an error
