Not able to connect on startup, but can connect manually after launch
Description

Toad is setup to connect to a database on startup. However, when Toad is launched the message below is received. The wierd thing is if the saved connection is double clicked on, in the connection manager, it connects fine. Why can it connect after Toad is launched, but not on startup?

"A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)"
Résolution

1) Right click on saved connection and select Properties.
2) Uncheck the 'Connect on Startup' option.
3) Close Toad.
4) Launch Toad and connect to database.
5) Right click on saved connect and select Properties.
6) Check the 'Connect on Startup' option.
7) Disconnect and close Toad.
8) Launch Toad and see if issue is fixed.
