To open the Server page

  1. Select the Spotlight on Oracle connection in the Spotlight Browser.

Charts on the Server Page

Chart Description
Parallel Query Servers

Parallel Query Servers shows the number of busy and idle parallel query servers. Parallel query servers support parallel execution of queries and DML statements. The number of servers varies, depending on the load between the configuration parameters PARALLEL_MIN_SERVERS and PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS.

For more information about parallel query servers see:

Note: If this is a node on an Oracle RAC cluster then the number of Busy and Idle servers may be greater than the sum of servers on the instance because of PZnn processes that are spawned by Oracle to do queries on GV$ views.

Servers Percent Busy

Servers Percent Busy shows the percentage of time servers have spent in a busy state. Separate graphs are shown for different types of servers. The servers that are shown are:

  • Shared servers
  • Dispatchers
  • Parallel servers

Note: Because of a bug in Oracle, the Servers percent busy chart can sometimes display negative values.

Shared MTS Servers

Shared MTS Servers shows the number of busy and idle multi-threaded servers (MTS) and the number of queued SQL requests that are waiting for a server. MTS servers perform work on behalf of more than one client process. The number of shared servers varies depending on load between the values of the configuration parameters MTS_SERVERS and MTS_MAX_SERVERS. For more information see:

Job Processes Job Processes shows the number of active and idle job queue processes, and the number of jobs that are awaiting a free job queue (jobs pending). Server Processes Panel
