Spotlight only supports TLS 1.2 or higher for reading and writing data to the Playback and SpotlightStatisticsRepository (SSR) databases. It does not support the older TLS 1.1 protocol.
Some older versions of SQL Server (e.g., SQL Server 2014, 2012, or earlier) only supported TLS 1.1 in their initial release builds. If users are running these older builds and try to connect to Playback or SSR databases using Spotlight, the connection will fail.

To fix this issue, users need to upgrade their SQL Server to a build that supports TLS 1.2 or higher. They can choose a later build of the same SQL Server version they are currently using.
