Nvrestore command fails when using a filesystem backup of a network share.

Engineering have confirmed that running the nvrestore.exe for the main Filesystem Plugin works successfully.
The nvrestore does not work with a backup of a network share item.

Running:
nvrestore.exe -create <saveset> -title <title> -path \\vs-digitalcolls\dcdod7\Working\list.txt

Replies:
Failed to find match for component '\\vs-digitalcolls\dcdod7\Working\list.txt' in '\\vs-digitalcolls\dcdod7\Working\list.txt' in the selection treeError processing restore selection file: An error occurred while reading the stanza contents: Could not select '\\vs-digitalcolls\dcdod7\Working\list.txt'

Similar problem is with nvsetcreate.exe command. Using nvsetcreate following the examples in the NetVault CLI Guide we can create a restore set from a fixed drive backup OK:

nvsetcreate.exe -setname MyRestore -type RS -client MyClient -plugin "File System" -saveset 123 -include "E:\Downloads\NVBU_Builds"

Which creates the expected restore selection set. However the following command to create a restore set from a Network Share fails with "Failed to add selection '\\10.11.12.13\public\NVBU_Builds'” with the following:

nvsetcreate.exe -setname MyShareRestore -type RS -client MyClient -plugin "File System" -saveset 124 -include \\10.11.12.13\public\NVBU_Builds

Engineering have created a Bug case for this issue (27868) and you will have to check the Release Notes of a future NVBU release to check if Bug 27868 has been implemented.

Here are the steps to make sure that you have signed up to the Product Notification Program:

1] Use the following URL: https://support.quest.com/
2] Click on My Account and sign in > My Support > Manage Profile > My Products.
3] Click on Add Products and add all your products that you use and need notifications on.
4] Once done, eventually you will see new news and alerts. Click on the arrow under that section to see all the various updates.
5] Click on the "Yes, email me critical notifications" and you'll eventually see a confirmation pop-up window appear. Just click on OK to confirm. You can also sign up for RSS Feeds, but is not supported in Chrome or Firefox.
6] Sign out once all have been completed.
