When attempting to back up a system that requires application level quiescing, you get the error: "Error Message: API Call failed with message: Cannot create a quiesced snapshot because the create snapshot operation exceeded the time limit for holding off I/O in the frozen virtual machine."
You may have the Backup Exec Agent installed on the VM. The BE Agent replaces the VMware Tools VSS provider with its own VSS provider. Since vRanger leverages the VMware Tools provider to quiesce the application, the quiesce operation (and the backup) will fail.
Uninstall the BE Agent and remove and re-install VMware Tools in order to get the VSS provider back. Note that this will require reboot of the VM.
