File System Auditor 2.5x - The parameter 'address' cannot be an empty string. Parameter name addr (4240543)

The information in this article applies to: 

File System Auditor 2.5 

SYMPTOM:

When attempting the schedule a report the error “There was an error e-mailing report Report (date_stamp): The parameter 'address' cannot be an empty string.

Parameter name: address” is displayed, which is below, in the Application event log:

CAUSE: 

This error occurs when the Email settings in File System Auditor are blank, as shown below. The settings are not being shared for all users, so the user that the scheduled task runs under will fail unless File System Auditor is configured under that user as well.

RESOLUTION:

Log into the File System Auditor machine with the account that the schedule task(s) is running under. In the Report Configuration Console go to Tools | Preferences | E-Mail and enter the SMTP Server information, Authentication (If Required), and a valid From E-Mail address as shown below. Then click “OK”.
