Inappropriate authentication error syncing SIDHistory -
Description
An error is logged when the SYNCHRONIZE USER SID HISTORY option is enable in the profile settings and SIDHistory is not set in the target object. The error indicates the reason for failure is "inappropriate authentication" and may be similar to the below message:
"Error adding SIDs during SIDHistory migration for 'CN=User1,OU=Users,DC=domain,DC=local' (SQL ID: 123).Inappropriate authentication"All pre-requisites for SIDHistory synchronisation have been correctly set -
Cause
The Source Credentials in the Settings>Connections>Source section of the profile has been set using the UPN of the source service account and the UPN suffix of this account does not match the domain.
Example: The service account is BTAdmin@altdomain.local and the domain name is domain.local

Résolution
Set the UPN suffix of the service account to match the domain name or use the DOMAIN\User format.
