When running a script to identify FglAMs without agents, I had some interesting result.
Customer's Sun servers replied to commands with "you have mail" sometimes, which provided odd response/entries into the Foglight Mangement Server.
1) Identified the listings in Administration | Tooling | Script Editor -> Hosts -> List Instances.
Reference attachment.
2) Noted that the fully qualified domain name for the same hosts did exist so these 'appended' 'mail' hostname entries were rogue.
3) Verified that these rogue hostnames were not reporting into the Administration | Agents | Agent Hosts dashboard.
4) Verified on the actual FglAM installation that the rogue hostname entry was not in the $FGLAM_HOME/state/config/fglam.config.xml file.
5) Deleted the rogue entries in Management Server | Servers | Data Managment -> Host Model -> Hosts
