APM: Error trying to save a private SSL key to the FMS. This is a pre-existing FMS/ legacy FMS (4321215)

Unexpected error! An error occurred while attempting to save a resource of type Local Private Key.

We tried to upload Private SSL key to the APM FMS via the following path:
APM | Configure | Traffic Capture | Private Keys

This FMS is a "standalone" FMS. This is an FMS that we had been using prior to installing the APM cartridges onto it. We did not get this FMS from installing the All-in-One APM physical appliance (includes Sniffer, Archiver, and FMS) or from installing the Virtual APM ova (includes the Archiver and the FMS).     

When we browse to the SSL Key and then clicks the "Save" button (it is not necessary to have a passphrase anymore), we get the following error:

Unexpected error! An error occurred while attempting to save a resource of type Local Private Key.

"Legacy" FMS servers do not install OpenSSL by default. OpenSSL must be installed on the FMS for the Private Key save to work. FMS Serevrs that get isntalled by APM installers do come with OpenSSL by default.  

We have logged tracking number apmdata-649 for a more descriptive error message about the cause of these OpenSSL errors.

Resolution:

If installing the APM cartridge on a pre-exising, legacy FMS server make sure that OpenSSL is also installed on the server.

OpenSSL is a third party application and can be downloaded from the following site:
http://www.openssl.org/

You also need to add the Open SSL binary to your PATH.  After you do that, shut down the FMS, reboot the machine that the FMS is installed upon, and finally, restart the FMS
