Auto-clearing DBSS - Jobs Failed alarms -
Description
In newer versions of the SQL Server cartridge (5.9.7.10 and above), only one active alarm appears for each failed job to keep your alarm list clean and relevant. -
Cause
In earlier versions, failed job alarms were not cleared automatically, which could leave many outdated alarms. The
DBSS-JobsFailed_autoClearsetting was added so admins can control if failed job alarms should be cleared automatically. -
Resolution
If
DBSS-JobsFailed_autoClearis set to true:- A failed job alarm is cleared as soon as the job runs successfully, or if the same job fails again.
IfDBSS-JobsFailed_autoClearis set to false (default in older versions):- Alarms from failed jobs are not cleared automatically after a job runs successfully, so manual cleanup may be needed.
