When looking at session details for an Oracle, SQL Server, or Azure SQL agent in Foglight console (in Activity | Sessions) there is only the last one hour of data displayed.
Where can the user find historical sessions details?
By design the Foglight Database cartridges do not support this feature, however historical sessions can be viewing by using Performance Investigator (PI) functionality enabled on compatible agents (i.e. SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL).
NOTE: Foglight collects information for performance monitoring purposes and not for auditing. As such, it will not show all activity but will aggregate to save only the top activity affecting performance. Session information is subject to SQL PI rollup and retention parameters as described in Knowledgebase article 4307427.
Viewing Historical Sessions is currently supported when SQL PI is configured.
From the SQL PI (SQL Performance) dashboard, the following can be viewed.
