Using ControlPoint in a High Availability environment or Database Mirroring -
Description
ControlPoint application is no longer available after failing over to a new SQL server -
Cause
No Failover Partner Server has been added to the xcAdminConnectionString -
Resolution
When using a High Availability environment or Database Mirroring there is need to add a Failover Partner to the xcAdminConnectionString in the ControlPoint Settings list. The entry should be something similar to:-
Data Source=dos.ml.com;Failover Partner = [MirrorServerAddress];Initial Catalog=xcAdmin;Persist Security Info=True;Integrated Security=True
For versions earlier than 8.0 please also run the ControlPoint License Manager as administrator, choose the last option 'Added SharePoint Application or Content Database' and then click Record License Info.
