Unable to launch the Content Matrix console (4316023)

One of the following error messages is displayed when launching the Content Matrix Console:

The data file "C:\ProgramData\Metalogix\EnvironmentSettings.xml" could not be saved.

The data file "C:\ProgramData\Metalogix\EnvironmentSettings.xml" contains invalid data. Values in that file will be reset to defaults.

Access to the path 'C:\ProgramData\Metalogix\EnvironmentSettings.xml' is denied.

The account used to launch the Content Matrix Console does not have permission on the EnvironmentSettings.xml file.

• Launch the Content Matrix Console as an administrator.
  1. Click Start > All Programs > Metalogix > Content Matrix Console and select the corresponding console edition (e.g. SharePoint Edition).
  2. Right-click on Content Matrix Console and select Properties.
  3. On the Compatibility tab > Privilege Level section, check the "Run this program as an administrator" option.
     
     
      
  4. Click OK.
• Grant Full Control permission to the account on the EnvironmentSettings.xml file.
  1. Open C:\ProgramData.
  2. Right-click on the Metalogix folder and select Properties.
  3. On the Security tab, click the Edit button.
  4. On the Permissions for Metalogix window, select Everyone on the Group or user names list, then check the box across Allow to grant Full Control permission to the group.
     
     
      
  5. Click OK to close the windows.
• Perform a repair installation of the Content Matrix Console.
  1. Right-click on the Content Matrix setup file and select Run as administrator.
  2. Click the Remove/Modify/Repair Content Matrix Consoles button.
  3. On the Program Maintenance dialog, click Repair.
  4. Once the Installation Wizard has completed, click Finish, then Quit to close the installer.
