Make sure the Content Type Hub is configured on the target SharePoint environment.
Note: Content Type Hub is pre-configured in SharePoint Online. Please click here to know more about it.
Make sure the migrating account has the required permissions to migrate Managed Metadata. For additional information, please click here.
Enable the Advanced Mode on the Settings tab of the Content Matrix Console, then migrate the Farm Managed Metadata using the following options:
Note: Unchecking the "Resolve managed metadata by name and hierarchy" option will preserve the GUIDs, but may break the existing term store in the target environment. So, it is ideal that the target term store is empty prior to performing this step.
Right-click on the source Content Type Hub and select Copy Site.
Right-click on the target Content Type Hub and select Paste Site Objects > Content Types.
On the Content Type Options tab, select all content types to be migrated from the left column, then click the right arrow.
On the Managed Metadata Options tab, uncheck all options except for "Map term stores for migration".
Run the job to migrate content types.
Note: Before migrating any content that uses the Content Type Hub, make sure content types are published across the farm.
