How to export or import the Change Auditor configuration and templates (4255605)

How do you export or import the Change Auditor configuration to allow it to be re-imported into a newly installed Change Auditor instance/database?

To export and save Change Auditor configuration:

1. From the Change Auditor Client, click "View | Administration"
2. While on the "Administration Tasks" tab, click "Action | Export..." 
3. Enable/disable only the areas or specific templates you are interested in exporting and importing to another installation. For example, if only interested in file-system templates disable everything and leave only 'File System' enabled for export.
4. Save the resulting "Change Auditor Configuration.xml" 

To import the exported Change Auditor configuration into another installation:

1. From the Change Auditor Client, click "View | Administration" 
2. While on the "Administration Tasks" tab, click "Action | Import ..." 
3. Locate the "Change Auditor Configuration.xml"
4. Enable/disable areas or templates available for import that you are interested in importing.
5. Click OK 

WARNING

By default, all configuration settings except for the "Coordinator" and "Application User Interface" items are selected for export. When imported, these two configuration items overwrite any existing settings that may be present.

Be mindful when exporting/importing the configuration that audit templates or settings that are present both in the current configuration and the (possibly) older configuration back-up aren't in-advertently overwritten and rolled back to a previous state.
