Error "ORA-12592 TNS: bad packet" when running Database Health Check against a RAC db -
Description
Trying to run a Health Check on an 11gR2 RAC database, but immediately get the following error:
"ORA-12592 TNS: bad packet"

Cause
Network traffic error. Testing the failing sql statement (select * from v$parameter) in sql*plus results in the same error if the sql*plus arraysize is also set to 500 (the default for Toad)

Resolution
Reduce Toad's OCI Array buffer until the health Check runs OK. To change the value go to:
View | Toad Options | Oracle | General | OCI Array Buffer size
