Start or launch Toad for Oracle, and the error below is received.
Error:
Toad has encountered an unexpected error.
Details: Cannot create file "C:\Users\<your_user>\AppData\Roaming\Dell\Toad for Oracle\SettingsLocations.ini". Access is Denied.
User does not have read and write privileges to the specified directory.
Corrupt “SettingsLocations.ini” file.
RESOLUTION 1:
Toad requires the user to have Power User privileges, i.e. read and write privileges to the Toad directories and files, and to Oracle directories.
Request these privileges or rights from your IT / Network Administrator / Helpdesk people.
Check the Toad Getting Started Guide and Release Notes for minimum system requirements.
RESOLUTION 2:
Fully exit all Toad that is open, and then rename the “SettingsLocations.ini” file to “SettingsLocations_OLD.ini” (located in "C:\Users\<your_user>\AppData\Roaming\Dell\Toad for Oracle\"). Next, start Toad and re-test the issue.
