Configuring Agents to Monitor HP EVA Storage Arrays

During this procedure, you configure an agent to monitor the server hosting HP EVA Command View. You are prompted to select the arrays to monitor. For details, see Configuring Agents to Monitor Storage Devices.

HP 3PAR Arrays

Foglight for Storage Management collects information from HP 3PAR arrays by communicating with the embedded SMI-S provider integrated into the array's InForm OS.

Your environment must meet the following requirements:

•

OS version 3.1.2 is required.

•

You must enable the SMI-S provider, which is not enabled by default. Use the HP 3PAR CLI.

•

Foglight for Storage Management requires an SMI-S account with the Administrator role.

Enabling the SMI-S Provider

To enable the SMI-S provider:

Log in to the 3PAR CLI using SSH.

Enter the 3PAR Array IP address.

Enter the user name configured on the array and the password.

4

Enter the command showcim to check if the SMI-S provider is already enabled.

5

Enter the command startcim to enable the SMI-S provider.
