Blob Backup Failing -
Description
Timer jobs blob backups failing.
Initial Backup fails and subsequent timer jobs fail equally. Observed error is the following:
Error backing up BLOB BLOBIDHASH. Error is Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Bluethread.SharePoint.StoragePoint.EndPoint.ProviderStoreBinary(Profile scopeProfile, Stream streamContent, Guid blobId, String startFolder, String overrideFolder, String overrideFilename, Int64& fileCompressedSize, BlobInfo blobInfo) at Bluethread.SharePoint.StoragePoint.Profile.ProviderBackupBlob(BlobReference sourceBlobReference) at Bluethread.SharePoint.StoragePoint.TimerJobs.BackupSync.ProcessItem(Object itemData) -
Cause
Issue could be related to timer service recycle/restart not being performed for some time. -
Resolution
Verify if other SharePoint timer jobs are failing. If other jobs besides StoragePoint specific jobs are failing, then is an environmental issue. Try a Timer Service Stop/Start.
If only StoragePoint jobs are failing, identify which jobs fail and under what conditions. Try a Timer Service Stop/Start. In a previous case this issue was resolved with a server reboot.
