When trying to optimize an index from a trace we are getting a lot of errors about missing columns/events
Description

What columns/events do we need to collect when running the trace? SQL Optimizer is complaining about some of the events like SP:StmtCompleted and SQL:StmtCompleted being missing and the optimize index cannot be run.
Resolution

Please use the templates provided with the tool.
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Quest Software\Quest SQL Optimizer for SQL Server 10.1.0\Optimize Indexes - Trace Templates and select the appropriate template
Then create a new trace and select this template. All the required columns and events will be selected.
