I am having an issue with my licensing key. I have a Toad for SQL Server license key that should give me access to SQL Optimizer for SQL Server. I enter the key in Toad and I am able to access Toad with no problem. However, when I launch SQL Optimizer from Toad or standalone, I get prompted to enter a key. When I enter my Toad key, it says "A Toad license key is detected, please enter this key in Toad instead".
SQL Optimizer will look for license.key in the product folder first. If it exists, SQL Optimizer will use this key by default. This file does not have the commercial key in it.
RESOLUTION #1:
Upgrade to the latest version of SQL Optimizer for SQL Server.
RESOLUTION #2:
Rename the license.key file in the Toad for SQL Server installation directory (C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for SQL Server 5.0 by default) to license.key.old.
