After upgrading to NVBU 11, Backup job for Smartdisk fails with "Job Manager lost message channel unexpectedly"
Description

Unable to back up the data to the SmartDisk after upgrading to NVBU 11 from NVBU 9.2 with error message "Job manager lost message channel unexpectedly".
Backing up to other devices(Tape and etc) works.
Cause

Communication between NetVault Server and SmartDisk is blocked because it uses Non Compliant HTTP.
Resolution

WebDAV uses digest-access authentication, specifically RFC 2069 so that if you use WebDAV authentication it should not be the problem.
You can enable the WebDAV by following the below KB;

Please Note: SmartDisk needs removing and putting back with WebDAV credentials.
