The symptom we are seeing in the sync logs is the NetBIOSName is empty, following with the error below:
Error attempting to locate NetBIOS name for CN=XXXX,OU=XXXX,OU=XXXX,DC=XXXX,DC=XXXX using DC XXXX.example.com
NetBIOSName field is blank in BT_Person
Check PTR record in target domain controller. After creating the missing PTR record, reset the sync profile, and run a new sync.
