Groups not syncing with message in logs "Skipping group due to invalid email address"
Description

When syncing groups, they are not created or synced to the target domain, and the following warning message appears in the sync logs:

"Skipping group <distinguishedName> due to invalid email address"
Cause

If the option to sync non-mail objects is not selected in the profile settings, then any group without an assigned email address will not be synced and will be skipped.
Resolution
In order to sync groups or users that do not have an email address you will need to update the profile settings:
1. Click on the profile and select Manage.
2. Go to Settings, then Organizational Units.
3. Select Source, and then check the Non-Mail checkbox. Save the profile.
4. This will now include any users or groups selected by this profile in future syncs.
