Internal DSA Error when searching Quest MMAD ADLDS DB.
Example below from the DMA log qsdirectorymigration.log, we can see some of our own attributes being requested, they are starting with "aelita" so are easy enough to identify.
We can see this followed by a "0xe1000005. Internal DSA error", until this error is resolved this query will not complete on ADLDS.
Common Attributes to be requested: aelita-Amm-SourceDomainOrSiteID aelita-Amm-SourceDNSName aelita-Amm-SourceNamingContext aelita-Amm-SourcePort aelita-Amm-SourceGCPort aelita-Amm-SourceAuthType aelita-Amm-Extension1 aelita-Amm-Extension2
Update has not been installed correctly or needs to be reinstalled and have the upgrade process followed
- Note - "0xe1000005. Internal DSA error" can be logged for a number of reasons, this KB only covers one of these reasons, if there is any doubt on why this error is occuring for you please contact Quest technical support and we can help to identify the issue in play.
Three options for resolution.
1. We need to go over the upgrade process entirely, pay particular attention to step 3 which may be enough on its own to resolve this issue.
https://support.quest.com/technical-documents/preparing-migration/8.15/upgrade-guide
2. Installing the latest update again is an option, once again following upgrade guide above closely.
3. Installing DSA on a new server may also work to resolve this issue if a directory agent is out of date after an upgrade, that is how we resolved this error recently in a support ticket.
