How to export an INI file for Vmover in QMM 8.13 and newer (4351531)

in some situations there is a need to export the .INI file for use with vmover.exe so that it can be used when vmover.exe is ran locally from a workstation/server.   There might also be a need to export the vmover.ini file for troubleshooting purposes.  How can this be accomplished?

Changes in product design.

1. Create a new collection in RUM.
2. Right-click on the collection and choose 'Operation with Selected Accounts'.
3. Select the desired objects.
4. Close with OK.
5. Right-click on the collection and choose 'Create Task | Processing Task'.
6. Keep clicking the 'Next' button until you reach the 'Task Schedule and Timeout' screen.
7. Select the “Decide later…” option.
8. Click 'Next' and 'Finish'.
9. Click on the 'Tasks' tab in the right pane.
10. Right-click on the newly created task and select “Export settings to file”.
11. Save the INI file in the desired location.
12. Open the INI file in Notepad and verify that the settings are accurate and the file contains the desired objects only.

Important:

• Don’t attempt to modify the INI file directly, this will break the file.
• Previously created tasks do not automatically inherit the Custom Map selected in the Collection. If the Custom Map has been modified, then a new Task needs to be created in order to get an updated INI file.
• Once a Custom Map has been specified, this selection will remain until it is deleted via 'Right-click on Collection | Delete Custom Map'.
• If you just need an INI file, without selecting the Custom Map, you can find one in either of these two locations:
     - QMM console | C:\Program Files\Common Files\Aelita Shared\Migration Tools\Resource Updating\Configs
     - Any processed computer | C:\Windows\Quest Resource Updating Agent\Ini
