Request the option in the Restore wizard tot keep the original mdf and ldf file names on the target.
Description

When using the Restore Wizard to restore to a new target server via the LiteSpeed GUI, the mdf and ldf did not keep the same name.
Customer is restoring a database to a new server and has to edit the script\UI to keep the original file names.
Since the database has many database files to rename he would prefer an option to keep the original names without having to manually edit them.
Cause

Working as designed. ST119669 has been created to track enhancement request.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Take a backup of any database
2. Restore the database using the restore wizard to a new server and new database.
3. Note the database file names are not the original ones from the original server\database.
Resolution

Workaround:
To correct this, the user will have to modify it from a script or, they’ll have to restore the normal way or restore using Automated Restore and then Detach the DB, rename the physical files, and reAttach.

Enhancement Request ST 119669 implemented in version 8.5. The latest version of LiteSpeed for SQL Server can be downloaded here
