NetVault Backup 10.x Upgrade Key Pre-requisites:
1. Must upgrade from NetVault Backup 9.2
2. Critical that a NetVault Database backup is performed prior to upgrade - the NVBU database has moved from a proprietary format to PostgreSQL.
3. Make sure to "Stop" the NetVault Services prior to upgrade.
4. Platform specific prerequisites are required.
eg. Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package(s) on NetVault Backup Server if upgrading on Windows.

Note:
Upgrade to NetVault Backup Server 10.x from 9.2 involves the migration of NetVault Database from proprietary format to the PostgreSQL database. The data migration can take a significant amount of time depending on the size of your NetVault Database and other factors such as system performance.
Before upgrading from NetVault Backup 9.2, purging unnecessary logs can significantly reduce the database migration time. For more information about purging log files, refer to the NetVault Backup Administrator's Guide.
