Does the VMware Performance Agent impact vCenter server performance during its collection cycles?

The VMwarePerofmance Agent adds load when it touches the APIs, because the Inventory/Events part of the API are not as low touch as the Performance counters. It is not a heavy amount and it is only every 5 – 10 minutes, so it is not a sustained 20%, for example. It all depends on the size of the environment, but in general it adds 5-10% every 5-10 minutes while it collects data.
