IMPORTANT: Quest recommends either using Foglight to monitor the size of the SQL PI transaction log or to use the SIMPLE recovery model on the SQL Server PI repository databases to avoid the SQL PI repository transaction log running out of space and affecting the usability of the product.
Please refer to the latest copy of the Foglight for Databases Deployment Guide for the prerequisites for this installation.
This section describes the properties which need to be modified or are of concern.
For other properties which are not mentioned here, if you don't know how to config them, just keep them as default.
By default, there should be three volumes in the SQL Server host:
Select the "Database Engine Services" feature and the installation directories are in volume C.
Note: The 5.9.4.26 and higher versions of the cartridge can initialize the SQL PI schema automatically. The user can specify the data directories when enabling the PI for the first DB agent. Thus this "Data Directories" step is optional.
Please refer Server Memory Server Configuration Options for more details.
The following video details how to install the SQL Server PI repository instance.
