USB/Port Security Alert: The Read operation you are attempting on the device DR0: was denied, after logon -
Description
When using USB/PS (Port Security) the alert below may be displayed stating the following message:
"The operation you are attempting on the device: \Device\Harddisk#\DR#: was denied because of restrictions in effect on this computer".
This message appears only on Windows 10 machines. This is an example of the message: -
Cause
USB/Port Security checks access to recovery partitions and due to permissions set on these partitions a security warning may be received. Please note that this does not affect any functionality of workstation or the security software. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND:
None.
STATUS:
This is a known issue and it has been reported as DAMS-3922. It will be fixed in a future release of KACE Desktop Authority.
