How to create a Registry profile element with existing .reg files

How to create a Registry Profile Element with an existing .reg file using the new import option in Desktop Authority (DA).

 

NOTE:  Existing customers may have Application Launcher elements that import .reg files, which may need to be disabled before proceeding. 

There are two ways to import an existing registry file.

Clicking the Import button from the Registry profile object will import all entries within the selected .reg file as multiple elements in the Registry profile object. This will result in multiple Registry profile elements with individual Validation Logic rules.

To import a .reg file into one element create a new Registry profile element by clicking the Add button, then click the Import button and select the .reg file to be imported.

Each Registry entry will be listed as an Action within the Registry element. Each Registry action can be modified individually without affecting other Actions by selecting the Edit button. The order of the Registry actions can be changed by using the Move Up or Move Down buttons. Set the Validation Logic rules accordingly for either elements and click the Save button, then click the Replicate button to make changes.
