How to obtain Android package IDs for app usage restrictions

KACE Cloud has the capability to limit what apps can be used by users. When setting up this features App IDs are important because that's how KACE Cloud tells Android/iOS what can be used and shown in app drawers and what can not.

 

In this document, there is a list of some app IDs for both Android and iOS. This can be more helpful for system apps that are not in the OS app stores. Here we plan to demonstrate how to use the Inventory information to obtain this information. 
1. Login to KACE Cloud.
2. Go to the "Devices" tab
3. Click on a device
4. Click on the "Apps" section

5. Search for the app, for this guide, we will use the camera

06. Select the app and click View Details

07. The App ID will be shown as the Identifier

This ID can be used in any restriction set to allow or block specific apps.
